Service Life

PTFE Rod is manufactured in two distinct ways, extruded PTFE Rod is the most popular and is relevant to smaller sizes, Moulded PTFE Rod is relevant to the diameters over 100mm in size, smaller sizes are also available in extruded form. Molded Teflon rod has a wide range of practicable temperature from -180°C – +240°C and a wax-like surface to which anything hardly rods. Molded PTFE rod has the lowest coefficient of friction of all known solid materials. It has the best electrical properties of all plastics.

PTFE Tape (Thread Sealant)
PTFE in tape form is the standard material for sealing threaded joints and connections. Joints can be taken apart long afterward without any trouble. It is virtually a universal sealing material which can be used on pipes of galvanized Iron, Rubber, Copper, Plastic Brass, Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Ceramic, Monel, Carbon etc.
The inherent plasticity of PTFE allows it to extrude into the irregularities of the thread, so filling any voids or passages. It is inert to acids, solvents oil, etc. and will not contaminate the liquid being handled.
